Maybe the Scientologists threatened to send Kirstie Alley over. But for whatever reason, the German government has decided to let the producers of the WWII drama Valkyrie shoot at the Bendlerblock, where the coconspirators in a plot to assassinate Hitler were killed in 1944. Initially, politicos balked at letting another movie crew set up shop at the landmark, and there were questions as to whether leading man Tom Cruise was fit to play national hero Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg.
