Should Hoda Kotb Replace Ann Curry on Today?

With rumors swirling about Ann Curry's possible departure from Today, the question on everyone's mind is: Who will replace her?
Although early reports had pegged Savannah Guthrie as the front-runner for Curry's gig, Radar Online reports that Hoda Kotb could take the seat next to Matt Lauer. Kotb was asked to fill in for Curry had she not reported to work last Thursday, according to The New York Times.
Is NBC replacing Ann Curry on Today?
Kotb's job switch would also spell good news for Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee fans. The site reports that if Kotb replaced Curry, Regis Philbin would then take over Kotb's duties co-hosting the fourth hour of Today with Kathie Lee Gifford. NBC executives reportedly loved Philbin and Gifford's on-air reunion last Wednesday, and want to sign on Philbin as a new contributor to work with the network on entertainment specials.
Philbin, who left Live! in November after 28 years, will host NBC's Macy's Fourth of July extravaganza.
