TNT has ordered two new drama series from The Closer's Kyra Sedgwick and Mob City alum Ed Burns, the network announced Wednesday.
Proof, executive-produced by The Closer alum, stars Jennifer Beals as Dr. Kathryn Russo, a brilliant surgeon who begins investigating supernatural phenomena including resurrections, out-of-body experiences, and hauntings. In her personal life, Russo is grappling with the loss of her teenage son and trying to salvage her strained relationship with her daughter. Weeds' Matthew Modine, Scandal's Joe Morton, Callum Blue, Edi Gathegi, Annie Thurman and Sean Gleeson also star. Murphy Brown alum Rob Bragin wrote the pilot and will serve as an executive producer with Jill Littman, and producer Tom Jacobson.

Public Morals, which Burns wrote, stars in and executive-produces, is a 1960s cop series about the Public Morals Division and the police officers that walk the line between morality and criminality. However, cop Terry Muldoon (Burns) is determined to raise his sons with integrity. Michael Rapaport and Elizabeth Masucci co-star in the series, which is also executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and Aaron Lubin.
