Tiger Woods to Return to Golf at the Masters

Tiger Woods will return to golf at the Masters on April 8.
"The Masters is where I won my first major, and I view this tournament with great respect," Woods announced on his website Tuesday. "After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta. The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be."

Woods' return likely will boost viewership for CBS and ESPN, which are covering the Masters — already the highest-rated major golf tournament.The 34-year-old golfer has not competed since he won a tournament in Australia in mid-November. Later that month, he crashed his car outside his Florida home, which led to his admission of extramarital affairs. He announced in December that he would take an "indefinite break" from the game to focus on his family — wife Elin and children Sam, 2, and Charlie, 1.In February, Woods re-emerged to issue a public apology and announce that he will continue to seek treatment.
