This Is Us fans are not here for Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) to end up dead, and the actress who plays her really appreciates the passion.

TV Guide got to chat with Watson on the red carpet of NBC's annual Upfronts presentation in New York City and she was genuinely shocked that fans were so concerned that Beth would die in Season 3 of the family drama because she was absent from the Season 2 finale cliffhanger surrounding the mysterious "her."

"I was really flattered by how people were really invested and really cared in the way that they were looking to see any signs of Beth in the future, you know?" Watson shared. "At first I thought it was a joke...so I was like, 'That is pretty hysterical.' But then I kept reading articles about it, or people kept telling me and people kept asking. So I was like, 'Oh, it's a real concern! Oh no! I think everything is going to be okay!'"

Many fans were willing to go to extremes if the writers dared to harm Beth, and Watson delivered a heartfelt thank you to those willing to go to those lengths to keep her character around.

"Thank you guys so much for your concern. Beth is going to be alive. She so appreciates you having her back because many of you said you would fight somebody if it went down," she assured us. "I definitely appreciate on her behalf. She's sticking around."

This Is Us returns, with Beth, this fall on NBC.
