This Is Us continues to be the fall's biggest success story having already received a full-season order from NBC, the network announced Tuesday.

"It's a rare moment in this business when a show so instantly delivers both critical acclaim and hit ratings, but This Is Us is just such an extraordinary achievement," Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. "Creator Dan Fogelman, along with co-directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa and the gifted producers, cast and crew, has delivered the kind of heart and depth that resonates with every segment of the audience, and we're proud to extend its presence on our schedule."

The emotional family drama, which stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, is the first freshman series to receive a full season order and is the No. 1 new show of the fall. According to NBC, last week's series premiere averaged 14.3 million viewers in Live+5 data and earned a 4.5 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic. Season 1 will consist of 18 episodes.

This Is Us boss reveals what's next after that mind-blowing twist

This Is Us was the most anticipated series of the fall, at least according to YouTube views. The show's trailer, which debuted in May, has been viewed more than 127 million times, probably because it opened with a shot of Ventimiglia's butt.

In addition to Ventimiglia and Moore, This Is Us stars Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones.

This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
