Despite what host Cat Deeley called "one of the best Top 10 performance shows" in So You Think You Can Dancehistory, another two dancers have been eliminated from the competition.
As usual, Deeley recapped each dancer's performance before revealing which four competitors earned the fewest votes. The good news: Melanie, Tadd, Marko, Sasha, Jess and Caitlyn each breezed into the Top 8.
That meant Mitchell, Clarice, Rickey and Jordan would dance solos in hopes of being saved by Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and this week's guest judge, Neil Patrick Harris. After the contestants danced for their lives, Lythgoe emphasized that, although the judges were unanimous, this elimination did not mean that the eliminated dancers were anything less than superstars.
"We don't have anything to say about you being bad tonight," Lythgoe said, reminding viewers that even the eliminated dancers would be going on tour. "We think you're all fantastic."
Lythgoe then revealed the bad news: Clarice and Mitchell's journey was over. Both dancers thanked their families and fellow dancers for their inspiration and support.
Deeley also announced that next week's performance show will feature guest judges Rob Marshall (who won an Oscar for Chicago) and, as previously announced, Lady Gaga.
What did you think of the eliminations? Did the judges make the right choice?
