The good news: The Walking Dead is finally returning to Alexandria this week.

The bad news: Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is coming to collect his half of Alexandria's s---.

That much is certain. But beyond that, there's room for speculation about what will happen once the Safe Zone opens its gate to The Walking Dead's most dangerous man.

The big question is how closely will the show follow the comic's template.

Will the series keep the plot where a battalion of Saviors attacked Alexandria at the same time Negan was bashing Glenn's head in with a bat but were driven back by Alexandria's defenses?

Is Rick (Andrew Lincoln) faking his damaged psychological state as a way to protect his people from Negan catching on to Rick's plan to rise up against him? In the comics, Rick was only acting like Negan had broken him because he needed Alexandria to be genuinely terrified of Negan so that they could ultimately outsmart him.

Even the show doesn't keep those plots, it will probably keep the plot where Negan takes Carl under his wing. Is this the episode were Negan is so impressed with Carl's (Chandler Riggs) bloodthirstiness that he decides to keep him around?

The answers to those questions and more will be revealed on the next new The Walking Dead, Sunday at 9/8c on AMC.
