It looks like Netflix has found its Selena Quintanillafor the upcoming bio-series about the Tejano singer.

The Walking Dead's Christian Serratos will lead the series about the famed songstress, according to Vulture, which reports that Serratos is in negotiations to play Selena for the upcoming scripted series, but a final deal has not been inked yet. The Hollywood Reporter added that the hold up comes from trying to juggle Serratos' Walking Dead filming schedule with the Netflix series, which will reportedly go into production next month. Serratos has played Rosita on the the zombie drama since Season 4.

Selena: The Series will center on how Quintanilla rose to fame and the decisions she and her family made behind the scenes to make her one of the most influential Latin music artists to date and the Queen of Tejano music. Of course, this isn't the first time we've seen Quintanilla's story adapted. Jennifer Lopez's breakout role was in the 1997 film about the singer, which concluded with Selena's untimely death after she was shot by her business manager Yolanda Saldivar in 1995.

American Crime writer Moisés Zamorawill pen the Netflix script and executive-produce the series alongside Jaime Davila, Rico Martinez, Suzette Quintanilla, Selena's father Abraham Quintanilla Jr., and Simran A. Singh. The streaming service picked up the show straight to series last December.

Netflix did not immediately respond to request for comment about Serratos' casting.

The Walking Dead Season 10 premieres Sunday, Oct. 6 at 9/8c on AMC.
