Here's some exciting news to brighten your day: John Legend is bringing his talents to The Voice!

The newly-minted EGOT winner will join the panel for Season 16, effectively replacing Jennifer Hudson as a coach. But don't worry, there's no drama here; according to The Hollywood Reporter, Legend is a huge fan of the show and actually asked to be on it, so NBC granted his wish. (Honestly, who's going to turn down a, ahem, legend?)

"I'm thrilled to join the coaches of The Voice," Legend said in a statement. "I've been a guest and mentor on the show multiple times and I'm so excited to discover talented singers and help them make the most of their gift. I hope the world is ready for #TeamJL."

Big Shoutout to John Legend, the Only EGOT Achiever Who's Friends with Kanye West

Legends joins returning coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and the wonderfully earnest Kelly Clarkson. And although Hudson won't be a part of Season 16, you can still see her in the upcoming season, which premieres Monday, Sept. 24 at 8/7c on NBC.
