In another puzzling moment of the 2016 Oscars, Angela Bassett appeared for a bit called "Black History Month Minute."
The American Horror Story actress sat in a stark room as if she were filming a "The More You Know" segment and informed the audience about a man that has "broken barriers" at the Oscars for years. "This man has long been an inspiration to his people," she said, amping you up to believe the segment would be paying tribute to the likes of Sidney Poitier or Denzel Washington. Instead the bit took a weird turn. "You can call him actor, producer, comedian, musician, but we simply call him, Jack Black."
Get it? It's Black History Month and his last name is Black. Nice try, Oscars writers, but there are kindergarteners with better jokes.
