We'll be staying Up Late with Miss Piggy for the rest of the season! ABC has given The Muppets a 16-episode full season order, the network announced Thursday.
Marking the Muppets' return to television, the new series follows Kermit the Frog and the rest of the gang as they put on Miss Piggy's late-night talk show, Up Late with Miss Piggy. The show follows the behind-the-scenes drama of the show and the action in the individual Muppets' lives, showing everything from Piggy feuding with Reese Witherspoon to Gonzo's attempts at online dating.
The Muppets has averaged a 2.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 7.6 million viewers overall since its premiere. It joins Dr. Ken and Quantico as new series to which ABC has awarded a full season. The network recently cut Blood & Oil's episode count.
The Muppets airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
