The first trailer for A&E's documentary The Killing of JonBenet: The Truth Uncovered promises to deliver answers in the 20-year-old case.

In the two-hour special, which premieres Monday, Sept. 5, JonBenet's father John Ramsey will address the case publically for the first time in years. "We absolutely felt like we were the victim of a lynch mob led by the media," John, 72, says. "There's no question that the Boulder police department believed we were the killers."

John and his late ex-wife Patsy were initially suspects in the murder of their 6-year-old daughter JonBenet, who was found dead in their home on Dec. 26, 1996. But while their son Burke was cleared in 1999, John and Patsy weren't removed from the suspect list in 2008.

Now, based on the trailer, A&E's new documentary appears to be attempting to prove the theory that the young pageant queen was killed by an outsider. "This DNA comes from an intruder. This person murdered JonBenet," an unidentified man confidently tells the camera.

This is a stark contrast to the first trailer for CBS' six-hour docuseries, The Case of: JonBenet Ramsey, which hints at new evidence that would once again cast suspicion on JonBenet's family.

A&E's The Killing of JonBenet: The Truth Uncovered airs Monday, Sept. 5 at 9/8c. CBS' The Case of JonBenet Ramsey premieres Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8:30/7:30c. Burke Ramsey, 29, will also appear on Dr. Phil for a three-part special about the case, which will begin on Monday, Sept. 12.
