Tessa Ferrer, Gaius Charles to Leave Grey's Anatomy

Grey Sloan Memorial is losing two more members of its staff.

Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles, who play Leah Murphy and Shane Ross onGrey's Anatomy, will not be returning next season, sources confirm to TVGuide.com.

Though their contracts as series regulars have not been renewed, it's unclear whether Ferrer and Charles will make guest appearances in the upcoming 11th season, according to Deadline, which first reported the news.

It's plausible the characters will be written out of the show based on failed romantic entanglements. (This is Grey's Anatomy, after all.) Charles' Shane was briefly involved with Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), who is not returning for Season 11. And Ferrer's Leah is still hung up on Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), who's working to mend her marriage to Callie (Sara Ramirez).
