Kevin Williamson's fairy-tale thriller Tell Me a Storyis bringing in some serious talent for its inaugural season.

In her first regular role in a U.S. series since Sex and the City, Kim Cattrall will play Colleen, an unconventional grandmother whose son moves back in with her, bringing along his troubled teen daughter. However, the choir girl-turned-rebel is going to have to step her game up and become the protector of her family against some very dark forces.

Set in present day New York City, the CBS All Access series turns classic fairy tales like "The Three Little Pigs" and "Little Red Riding Hood" into dark tales of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder. The series is based on the Spanish-language series by Marcos Osorio Vidal.

Alongside Cattrall, the series also stars Billy Magnussen, who you might recognize from the "USS Callister" episode of Black Mirror and as Nathan Hill in Epix's Get Shorty series. In Tell Me a Story, he'll step into the role of Nick, a handsome high school teacher who may very well be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Williamson will serve as writer and executive producer on the series. Liz Friedlander will also executive produce and direct the first two episodes. Her credits include Marvel's Jessica Jones, The Gifted and the upcoming crime drama The Rookie starring Nathan Fillion.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS.)
