The Biz: Tamron Hall Joins Today's Third Hour
Tamron Hall has officially joined the third hour of NBC's Today as a co-host. Hall, a frequent substitute during the 7 to 9 a.m. hours of the morning program, became an official member of the family on Monday.

Hall, a frequent substitute during the 7 to 9 a.m. hours of the morning program, became an official member of the family on Monday. She will continue to anchor NewsNation, a daily newscast on MSNBC, which airs at 11 a.m./10c starting today. Hall also continues to host Dateline: Crime With Tamron Hall, a true crime series for ID Discovery.
Hall, 43, joined NBC News in 2007 after local news stints in Chicago, where she was a morning anchor for 10 years, and Dallas. She's the first African-American woman to serve a Today regular in the program's 62-year history.
"My body vibrates thinking about what an honor this is," Hall tells TV Guide Magazine. "I think back to when I watched Iola Johnson, the first African-American woman on local news in Dallas, with my dad and he said 'you can do that.'"
Hall joins Al Roker, Willie Geist and Natalie Morales, who will all continue as co-hosts of the third hour (9 to 10 a.m.).
