Susan Boyle is one step closer to the Talent title. In a hardly surprising development, the Scottish singing sensation advanced into the semifinals of Britain's Got Talent on Saturday.
Boyle, whose soaring rendition of Les Miserables' "I Dreamed a Dream" has been viewed nearly 60 million times on YouTube, was one of 40 acts selected by judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden to continue in the competition. Boyle will kick off the first of five semifinals on Sunday, going up against seven other acts. Two acts from the five semifinals will then be voted by the judges and viewers through to the finale, scheduled to air next Saturday on Britain's ITV network.
Boyle's semifinal performance will be available online immediately following the broadcast of her performance, Talent spokeswoman Sara Lee told the Associated Press. Lee declined to reveal what song Boyle will perform.
