What happened to his face?
The CW released the first official photo of Supergirl's version of the Man of Steel Thursday, and it's...odd.
The photo, which features Season 2 newcomer Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf) posing next to Melissa Benoist's Supergirl, feels oddly disproportionate. No one expects fictional superheroes to be terribly realistic, even in photographic form, but this feels a little too obviously manufactured.
Forgetting the fact that Hoechlin doesn't appear to know what to do with his hands (we've all been there), is it possible that his face looks slimmer, his chest a little too bulky for the rest of him?
Supergirl: 8 reasons Tyler Hoechlin's Superman should have a beard
That isn't a knock on Hoechlin's physique -- he's pretty much a perfect male specimen and a great choice to play Superman (and has the hair curl to prove it) -- it's just that, well, in a world where Tyler Hoechlin "needs" to be heavily edited, where do we draw the line?
Check out the photo below. What do you think?
Season 2 of Supergirl premieres Monday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c on The CW.
