STAR TREATMENT

The NYPD is denying that phone thrower Russell Crowe received star treatment following his arrest Monday. On Wednesday's Late Show, the Oscar winner — who was processed and released in just eight hours — said a pal of his at the NYPD "made a few calls" and "simplified things." But a rep for the police department tells the New York Daily News that "the only different treatment Russell Crowe got was a police escort to the courthouse." And a jail cell with a plasma TV.
