Spotlight nabbed five wins at the Independent Spirit Awards Saturday, including Best Feature and Best Ensemble.
The award, which honors independent movies (which have a budget of less than $20 million) also named Brie Larson best female lead actress for Room - further indication she's a shoo-in at the Oscars Sunday.
Three of the four big awards went to people of color, with Beasts of No Nation's Abraham Attah taking Best Male Lead and Idris Elba winning Best Supporting Male. Tangerine, a buzzed-about film that follows a transgender sex worker who's discovered her boyfriend has been cheating on her, garnered its star Mya Taylor a Best Supporting Female win, making her the first transgender actress to snag a big award on the circuit. Congrats!
