Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg will be teaming up for a chat series called Martha & Snoop's Dinner Partyon VH1, because they might as well, you know? They may seem mismatched, but actually their dynamic works well because you expect that it wouldn't.
Stewart, of course, is an uptight older white lady, while Snoop Dogg is a gang-affiliated black man who smokes weed constantly, talks in a made-up language and claims to have worked as a pimp in 2003 and 2004, more than a decade into his thriving multi-hyphenate career and well past the point when he should have been engaging in criminal activity. (He and Stewart both have criminal records, which is also part of the joke). They work well together because they understand their roles and are shrewd businesspeople who appreciate the value of a strong brand.
Each episode of Martha & Snoop's Dinner Party will be a "half-baked evening of cocktails, cooking, conversation, and fun where nothing is off limits." OK. So Amber Rose will tell stories about stripping while Snoop sits on a couch and never takes off his sunglasses. It starts this fall on VH1.
Stewart and Snoop Dogg's TV friendship goes back to at least 2008, when he made mashed potatoes with her on her show. Most recently they were paired together on The $100,000 Pyramid. They're funny together. Whatever.
