Broadway Vet Krysta Rodriguez Joins Smash as Series Regular

NBC continues to add more real-life Broadway stars to its musical series Smash.
Krysta Rodriguez is the latest addition, signing on as a series regular for Season 2, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Rodriguez, whose stage credits include The Addams Family and A Chorus Line, will play Ana, the new roommate to Karen (Katharine McPhee). Like her new roomie, Ana is trying to make a name for herself on Broadway.
Jennifer Hudson heads to Smash for multi-episode arc
Rodriguez — who appeared in one episode of Gossip Girl, where she worked with new Smash showrunner Josh Safran — joins the previously cast Broadway vets Andy Mientus and Jeremy Jordan, along with Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson.
Smash returns to NBC midseason.
