According to TV Line, executive producer Mark Goffman, who shepherded the series through its first and second seasons, is stepping down as showrunner ahead of a potential Season 3 renewal.

Ratings for the supernatural drama fell from an average of 8 million viewers during the show's first season to less than 5 million in its second as the series struggled to service too many characters in mediocre storylines.

A search for Goffman's replacement is currently underway, but considering how shaky Sleepy Hollow's second season was, it's very unclear whether a renewal is in the cards.
