The Oscar-winning actress has joined CBS' John Wells-produced medical drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The untitled series follows a mobile team that travels the U.S. treating patients. Spacek will play their leader, who's also battling cancer.
The 60-year-old actress took home the Academy Award for her performance in 1980's Coal Miner's Daughter. She's been nominated five other times, including for her work in Carrie, The River and In the Bedroom.
