Showtime's Episodeshasn't begun shooting its third season yet, but I already know which installment is going to be my favorite. Creators David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik are planning to spoof a real-life snafu that the show's star, Matt LeBlanc, suffered last year.
In the story they're conceptualizing, Matt gets booked on The Tonight Show and finds out at the last minute that he's been slotted as the second guest to be interviewed, not the first, as is usually the case with big stars. "It's the first time that's ever happened, and it sends him into a tailspin," says Crane.
This scenario didn't actually happen to LeBlanc on The Tonight Show ("They like me over there," he says), but rather on the U.K. talker The Graham Norton Show. "Zac Efron was in first position, which was fine," LeBlanc says. "We actually came out at the same time, but Zac got to sit closest to Graham on the couch."
