Shia LaBeouf Seeking Treatment for Alcoholism

Shia LaBeouf is seeking treatment for alcoholism, but the actor has not checked into rehab, Us Weekly reports.

"Contrary to previous erroneous reports, Shia LaBeouf has not checked into a rehabilitation facility but he is voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction," his rep said in a statement. "He understands that these recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he has taken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery."

Last Thursday, LeBeouf was arrested during a performance of Cabaret on Broadway. He was charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing. Earlier that day, he had been spotted chasing a homeless man around Times Square. After LaBeouf returned to Los Angeles on Sunday, he was photographed carrying The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.

LaBeouf is due in court on July 24.
