Good things come to those who wait?

BBC has pushed back the production of Sherlock three months, which means fans of the series on this side of the pond may have to wait until 2014 for the third season, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Production was moved from January to March to accommodate the busy schedules of stars Benedict Cumberbatch, who's starring in Star Trek 2, and Martin Freeman, who is starring in the first installment of The Hobbit big-screen adaptation, which comes out next month.

No official premiere date has been announced, but sources say BBC won't air the new season until late 2013. PBS, which airs Sherlock in the U.S., will have to wait until after the BBC's window closes. A PBS spokesperson told the magazine Sherlock would either air in late 2013 or early 2014.

Sherlock is one of several critically acclaimed shows fans may have to wait a bit longer for. After wrapping its third season in September, Louie won't be back on the small screen until 2014 as well.
