Reality Star Shayne Lamas Not in a Coma After Suffering Miscarriage

Despite reports to the contrary, The Bachelor and Couples Therapy alum Shayne Lamas is not in a coma after suffering a miscarriage, People reports.

Lamas' famous father, actor Lorenzo Lamas, issued a statement to set the record straight after TMZ reported early Monday that his daughter was in a coma. "We are so grateful that my daughter, Shayne Lamas-Richie, is conscious and stable. She is not in a coma, however she did miscarry the child she was carrying," Lamas told the magazine Monday. "We are so very grateful to the hospital personnel and the doctors who saved her life last night.

"Shayne is aware of her condition and that her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much," Lamas continued. "She will be remaining in the hospital until her doctors determine that she can be released."

Lamas, 28, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after collapsing and suffering internal bleeding around her uterus. The reality star, who was 16 weeks along with her second child, reportedly lost the baby during surgery.

Lamas married TheDirty.com founder Nik Richie in 2010. Their daughter, Press Dhal Lamas-Richie, is 2. In a message posted on his blog Monday, Richie said he would be taking some time off but did not comment directly on his wife's health. "Unfortunate things happen to good people," he wrote. "I'm not the best person in the world, but I love my wife and my family. Shayne is my good person. She is my support and my smile. I found you and I never want to let you go. We will overcome."
