Shakira and her boyfriend Gerard Piqué have welcomed their second child, Yahoo News reports. The singer gave birth to son Sasha in Spain on Thursday.

"We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 29 at 9:54pm, in Barcelona," Shakira's website announced Friday morning. "The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means 'defender of mankind' and 'warrior.' The hospital confirmed that both mother and child are in excellent health."
Shakira met Piqué, a soccer player, in 2010 while making her music video for "Waka Waka." The couple is already parents to son Milan, 2.
