Seth MacFarlane is turning his love of show tunes into an album.

The Family Guy creator announced on Thursday's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that he's working on an album for Universal Republic Records that will feature "swing arrangements of classic tunes."

"I had an offer to do an actual big band album and I took it," he said. "We kind of deliberately touch stuff that the Deans [Martin] and the Franks [Sinatra] and the Sammys [Davis Jr.] didn't do yet."

A fan of show tunes, MacFarlane has performed at charity events and on his Fox variety special last year. He has also won a songwriting Emmy for

Family Guy and is nominated for the award again this year.After making the announcement, MacFarlane treated Leno's audience to a rendition of the 1928 classic "You're the Cream in My Coffee," backed by the Tonight Show band.Watch his performance below (starting at 35:30):
