Torchwood’s John Barrowman to Guest-Star on Scandal

John Barrowman will guest-star in an upcoming episode of Scandal, executive producer Shonda Rhimes tweeted Tuesday night. Details on his role are being kept under wraps, but Barrowman will appear in the episode slated for Thursday, May 9.

Barrowman, well-known for playing the time-traveling Captain Jack Harness on Doctor Whoand Torchwoodand who currently recurs on The CW's Arrow, was previously cast in the Shondaland pilot Gilded Lilys, which failed to garner a pickup at ABC last pilot season.

Barrowman is the latest in a long line of stellar guest stars during the ABC series' second season, including Lisa Edelstein, Kurt Fuller, Eric Mabius, Sam Page, Brenda Song, Sam Anderson, Tom Amandes and Fringe's Jasika Nicole, who will appear in Scandal's return episode on Thursday, April 25.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC.
