SNL Recruits Two Second City Alums for New Season

Aidy Bryant and Tim Robinson

Saturday Night Live is adding two new faces. Aidy Bryant and Tim Robinson are slated to join the sketch comedy series for its upcoming 38th season, The Comic's Comic reports.

Both comedians are veterans of the legendary Chicago improv troupe Second City, which boasts a hefty list of SNL alums, including Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Bryant is also a member the musical improv group Baby Wants Candy.

Seth MacFarlane to host SNL premiere

This won't be the only TV gig for Robinson. The comedian will also be seen on CBS' midseason series Friend Me, starring Superbad's Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Robinson and Bryant were recruited in the wake of Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Abby Elliott's departures. Jason Sudeikis' future on the show remains unclear.

Saturday Night Live premieres its 38th season Saturday, Sept. 15 on NBC with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean.
