Joe McGinniss' anticipated book about Sarah Palin claims she did coke, had an affair and hooked up with a basketball star.
In the book titled The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, McGinniss details his experiences as the former Alaskan governor's next-door neighbor in 2010. McGinniss, who wrote the best-seller The Selling of the President 1968, moved to Alaska to do research on Palin.
Some of the book's claims include that Palin "snorted cocaine off an overturned 55-gallon drum during a snowmobile excursion." McGinniss also writes that she slept with future NBA player Glen Rice when she was 23 and had an affair with her husband's business partner.
"This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife. His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo and smears," Todd Palin said, according to Fox News.
McGinniss' book is out Tuesday, the same day that Levi Johnston, the father of Bristol Palin's son, is releasing his memoir. So far, reviews of McGinniss' tome — including by The New York Times — have been skeptical and tepid.
Palin, the Republican vice president candidate in 2008, is still considering a presidential bid for 2012. She's a commentator for Fox News Channel and had a TLC show Sarah Palin's Alaska, which averaged 3.2 million viewers but ended after just one season in January.
