Good Morning America's Sam Champion Marries

The forecast looks full of love for Good Morning America weatherman Sam Champion, who married Rubem Robierb Friday in New York, Peoplereports.

The couple made it official at Champion's apartment in a small ceremony including GMA colleagues Lara Spencer and Robin Roberts, who is recovering from a bone marrow transplant. N.Y. State Supreme Court Justice George J. Silver conducted the ceremony and guest Thomas Roberts recited a poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

Champion, 51, met Robierb, a 35-year-old fine-arts photographer, at a New Year's Eve party in Miami three years ago. They will be hosting a larger wedding party on New Year's Eve in Miami to celebrate the occasion. "We met on New Year's and he proposed on New Year's Eve, so we thought let's get married on New Year's Eve," Champion said. "New York it will be legal. Miami will be the spiritual side to celebrate with the people who have been with us and supporting us and been a part of our lives since we met. We want to celebrate with them."

The couple announced their engagement in October. "I'm looking forward to spending every day of the rest of my life with a guy who just makes me a better person to be around him," Champion said.
