Sacha Baron Cohen left his mark on the Oscars red carpet and it wasn't just because he arrived as his character from The Dictator.

During E! News' pre-show on Sunday, Baron Cohen, dressed in full dictator regalia, spoke with host Ryan Seacrest in character and showed off a very special accessory: an golden urn filled with what he claimed to be the ashes of the late North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il.

The Dictator's Oscar victory: Sacha Baron Cohen invited to attend in costume

"It was his dream to come to the Oscars and to be sprinkled over the red carpet and over Halle Berry's chest again," Baron Cohen told Seacrest. The supposed remains — most likely some sort of flour -- left quite a stain when Baron Cohen proceeded to spill the ashes on Seacrest's Burberry tuxedo in the middle of the interview.

The actor was quickly strong-armed away, and a none-too pleased Seacrest quickly started cleaning himself up with napkins and a lint roller.

The Dictator opens in theaters nationwide on May 11.
