As if Ryan Seacrest weren't busy enough, he's starting up a new cable channel.
The American Idol host is partnering with Mark Cuban, entertainment company AEG and talent firm Creative Artists Agency to create AXS (short for "access"), a new pop culture channel expected to premiere in late spring, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Cuban's HDNet channel will be rebranded AXS over the next several months. The new offering will boast live concerts and lifestyle shows, aimed at entertainment aficionados. The planned flagship show, AXS Live, will be what Cuban describes as ESPN's SportsCenter for pop culture and music.
Dish Network plans to broaden its reach to about 35 million homes, increasing its carriage by about 10 million homes for AXS.
