FX has ordered production on a series pilot, reported to revolve around a sensitive therapist, Ben Harmon, and his gorgeous wife Vivian (Britton). According to Deadline, which first broke the news, Vivian is a "force to be reckoned with in spite of her vulnerable demeanor." In addition, TVLine reports that while other plot details haven't been released, each season of the show (should it be picked up) will feature an entirely new cast.
American Horror Story is the brainchild of Murphy and Brad Falchuk, co-creator-executive producers of Fox's Glee and previously FX's Nip/Tuck. Murphy will direct the pilot, which begins shooting in April. Glee's Dante Di Loreto will also executive produce.
Britton is still attached as a producer to an FX drama project from David O. Russell, which is still in development.
Britton can next be seen in the final season of Friday Night Lights, which first aired on DirecTV. NBC is re-airing the season, premiering on April 15 at 8/7c.
