Exclusive: Go On’s Laura Benanti Joins Royal Pains as Hank's New Rival

It looks like Royal Pains' Dr. Hank (Mark Feuerstein) is going to have to step up his game!

Go On star Laura Benanti is joining the USA medical series in a recurring role, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Benanti will play Shelby Shackelford, the dynamic new Senior VP of Acquisitions at Symphony Health Systems, a health care company trying to buy Hamptons Heritage Hospital. An out-of-towner, Shelby comes to the Hamptons and brings an unexpected vision for the hospital — one that may mean new competition for HankMed.

Benanti joins previously announced guest stars including American Horror Storyvet Frances Conroy and Smallville's Callum Blue. In addition to her starring role on NBC's Go On as group therapy leader Lauren, the Tony award winner is known for her recurring role on Law & Order: SVU as Amaro's estranged wife.
