Roseanne Barr Is Going Blind and Smoking Pot for the Pain

She says marijuanna is "a good medicine"

Roseanne Barr is all for the legalization of marijuana. "It's a good medicine," she told The Daily Beast in a wide-ranging interview.

Barr explained in the interview that cannabis helps to relieve her of the pain she suffers due to macular degeneration and glaucoma, which she added, will eventually her blind. The drug alleviates pressure, and she said, "It's a good medicine for a lot of things."

Though, she also enjoys the drug for its ability to open the mind and release us from "mind control."

"It's expansive," she said of pot. "It opens your mind. You're like...wow, you're in awe. You look up into the stars. It makes you wonder. It doesn't close that down."

Barr also discussed fame, working in her 60s and her 2012 presidential campaign, as the documentary Roseanne For President! is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival. She revealed that she is not exactly a Hillary Clinton supporter, and isn't terribly excited by the prospect of a female president.

"I think that a party that was woman-friendly would be revolutionary, and that party could be headed by a male or female," she said. "It's what the party itself stands for that matters." Read the full interview here.
