Veteran television actor Ron Glass died on Friday at the age of 71.
According to TMZ, the actor had recently been battling various illnesses, but no details surrounding his cause of death have been released.
Glass is best known for starring as Det. Ron Harris on the popular '70s sitcom Barney Miller opposite Hal Linden and Abe Vigoda, who passed away earlier this year. In 1982, Glass earned his first and only Emmy nomination for the role.
After Barney Miller, Glass went on to star as Felix in The New Odd Couple and appeared in 227, Family Matters and Friends. He also famously played Shepherd Brook in the short-lived Joss Whedon drama Firefly and its cinematic follow-up Serenity. His more recent credits include appearances on Agents of SHIELD, Major Crimes and CSI.
