Jughead (Cole Sprouse) is leading a war against the North Side -- and specifically Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) -- on Riverdale, but what does that mean for the show's central quartet?

It means that Jughead and Veronica (Camila Mendes) are going to go toe-to-toe and we'll finally see these two opposite personalities do battle like they've been doing for decades in the comic cooks.

Riverdale's Cole Sprouse on That Epic Bughead Reunion: "They Need Each Other"

"[Jughead's war] is going to complicate his relationship with Veronica very much, which is enjoyable to me," Cole Sprouse told TV Guide. "Jughead and Veronica in the digests and in the comics were always at odds. We're definitely picking on some of the motifs that have been around Archie comics forever."

The Archie comics are typically colored with lighthearted banter and good fun while Riverdale comes with a side of...well, murder. Let's just say you shouldn't expect and Bughead and Varchie to be going on any double dates in the near future.

Riverdale continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
