One person is definitely not happy about this

On Tuesday's episode of Rise, Simon Saunders (Ted Sutherland) has to break the sad news to his class and castmates that he's going to be leaving Stanton High in favor of the private, Catholic school where his parents have enrolled him.

Simon puts on a brave face as he makes the announcement, but inside, he's experiencing turmoil. "He's beyond torn up," Sutherland tells TV Guide. "But there's nothing he can do about it. In his eyes, his father is kind of the end all, be all. He's going to St. Francis."

And Simon's not the only person who's devastated by his impending departure. In this exclusive clip from the episode, his best friend Lilette (Auli'i Cravalho) is outraged that Simon didn't give her a heads up before dropping the bombshell.

Is Simon really leaving Stanton for good? And if so, how much of a wedge will this drive between him and Lilette?

Rise airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
