Rihanna Will Attend Chris Brown Hearing

Rihanna will attend a preliminary hearing in Chris Brown's assault case, her lawyer, Donald Etra, told TVGuide.com.
Etra said that the Los Angeles District Attorney will subpoena the pop singer for the June 22 court date, and he agreed on her behalf to comply. She will also testify, if required.
Rihanna's appearance would be her first in court since Brown, her then-boyfriend, was charged with one count of felony assault and one of making criminal threats in March after an incident between the two. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.
In recent days, Brown broke his silence for the first time since being charged. In video footage on Bow Wow's website, he told fans: "I ain't a monster".
The June hearing will determine whether or not Brown's case will go to trial. If there is a trial, Rihanna's subpoena for hearing won't necessarily require her to testify, Etra explained. He said her involvement will depend on whatever the District Attorney determines at the time.
Asked whether or not Etra and Rihanna think the case should go to trial, the lawyer responded, "That's a matter between the District Attorney and the defendant."
