Famed folk singer Richie Havens died from a heart attack Monday, according to The Associated Press. He was 72.

Havens, who opened the 1969 Woodstock Festival, went on to release more than 25 albums during his career.  His last album, "Nobody Left to Crown," was released in 2008. In addition to performing at Bill Clinton's Inauguration in 1993, Havens recorded jingles for different companies' commercials, including Amtrak and Maxwell House Coffee.
