A large number of prescription drugs were found in the bedroom of Brittany Murphy, who suffered shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain in the week leading up to her death, according to an investigator's notes obtained by TMZ.
Citing notes from the Los Angeles County coroner's office, TMZ said Investigator Blacklock wrote that Murphy, 32, went to the bathroom at 7:30 a.m. Sunday and shut the door. She had complained of shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain for seven to 10 days prior to her death, but her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, told the investigator he wasn't alarmed because his wife "often suffered from severe menstrual pains," the site said.
As reports surfaced regarding the cause of her death, Murphy's colleagues continued to honor the late actress, including King of the Hill co-creator Greg Daniels. "Brittany was extremely kind, talented, funny, and in love with acting," Daniels told The Wrap. "She was a joy to be around. This is very tragic news."
