In an attempt to rebrand itself, IFC is developing a new slate of comedic programming, highlighted by a real show from a fake-news organization and a sitcom from two Arrested Development alums.
IFC's new tagline: "Always on. Slightly off."
"It's a perspective and attitude we share with our audience, who crave the kinds of unconventional stories, characters, talent, execution, and above all, authenticity, we provide," Jennifer Caserta, executive vice president and general manager of IFC, said Tuesday in announcing the lineup.
Working together for the first time since their Arrested days, David Cross and Will Arnett will collaborate on The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, a comedy aboutthe misadventures of the title character (Cross). He's a corporate nobody and pathological liar who finds himself running his company's London branch. Arnett will play his blowhard boss, who assigns Todd to launch a new — and terrible — energy drink. The series will premiere later this year.

IFC's other original project, Onion News Network, will be based on The Onion, the fake weekly newspaper and website. Slated to premiere early next year, the series will feature over-the-top debates and weekly reports of absurd news. The network also has acquired The Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town, a Kids in the Hall reunion series that will debut in August, and Dead Set, a satirical zombie horror series set in the Britain's Big Brother house that will bow in October. What do you think of the new shows?
