Sunday's midseason finale of The Walking Dead drew 12.1 million viewers, according to AMC.
Although the capper was down from the Season 4 premiere (16.1 million viewers), it was up 29 percent from last year's midseason finale. Analysis show Talking Dead set a new record, with 6 million viewers.
The AMC zombie drama continues to be the No. 1 series on television among 18-to-49-year-olds and is the highest-rated series in the history of cable TV. The second half of Season 3 averaged 13 million viewers.
The Walking Dead returns with the final episodes of Season 4 beginning Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9/8c on AMC.
