Two months after its special preview, Touch returned to TV Thursday to solid, if smaller, numbers, helping Fox coast to an easy win with American Idol.
The Kiefer Sutherland drama drew 11.7 million viewers and a 3.2 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic — down 18 percent in the demo from its January preview, but up 33 percent in the timeslot's season average for Fox. Lead-in Idol (15 million, 4.0) was down 13 percent this week.
Will Kiefer Sutherland always save the day on Touch?
CBS took second place with March Madness games, with averaged 6.74 million and a 2.3. Perhaps affected by basketball, Missing and Community both suffered steep drops after their promising premieres last week. Missing (8.7 million, 1.6) slipped 24 percent and Community (3.9 million, 1.7) dipped 23 percent, but it was still NBC's top-rated show of the night. A double helping of 30 Rock (3.3 million, 1.5), Up All Night (3.2 million, 1.4) and Awake (4.6 million, 1.2) all endured similarly big drops.8 p.m.
