Super Bowl XLVIII may have been a blowout, but that didn't stop it from breaking a ratings record.
Contrary to preliminary numbers, the Seattle Seahawks' 43-8  ictory over the Denver Broncos Sunday averaged 111.5 million viewers, becoming the most-watched TV show in U.S. history. Sunday's numbers just edged out the New York Giants-New England Patriots bout two years ago, which drew 111.3 million.
The game is also the most-watched ever on Fox, eclipsing the 111 million who tuned in for the Green Bay Packers-Pittsburgh Steelers contest in 2010, and pulled in a 50.5 household rating in New York.

New Girl's post-Super Bowl episode, which started seven minutes earlier than its scheduled 10:30 p.m. ET start time, drew 25.8 million and a 11.1 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, up from Elementary's numbers (20.8 million, 7.8) last year, which started late. Brooklyn Nine-Nine grabbed 14.8 million and a 6.7.
