Army Wives on Lifetime also posted a series high in its fifth season — 4.8 million viewers. The ensemble drama, starring Kim Delaney and Catherine Bell, is the No. 1 drama on basic cable among women aged 25-to-54 and 18-to-49. Sunday night's episode — which included a character's shocking death — drew 3.4 million women over 18.
The venerable CBS newsmagazine beat ABC's America's Funniest Home Videos (7.5 million), Dateline NBC (3.6 million), and reruns of The Simpsons (3.4 million) and American Dad (3.9 million) at 7/6c, according to preliminary Nielsen figures.
CBS' Amazing Race (11.7 million viewers )again outpaced ABC's Secret Millionaire (10.5 million) at 8/7c Sunday. At the same time, the audience for NBC's America's Next Great Restaurant declined yet again to fewer than 3.7 million. New episodes of Fox's The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers attracted 6.1 million and 4.6 million, respectively.
At 9/8c, Undercover Boss took the hour with nearly 11.5 million viewers on CBS. Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice recruited 7.5 million viewers in its first hour, while a rerun of Fox's Family Guy and first-run American Dad drew 5.6 million and 5 million, respectively, and a rerun of Desperate Housewives got 4.2 million.
